My Rolex watches have all this while been from the Professional series aka Sport models. The only sport model that I did not give another look is the classic Explorer or Explorer 1. As I read more into the Explorer and the zealous heritage behind her, I know I must be missing something here. I gave the 214270 a second look and true enough, this sport model is a unique breed.
The Explorer is a subtle watch. She does not scream "Rolex" yet emits the Rolex aura. Flying under the radar, she tucks away neatly under shirt cuffs and the oyster bracelet look is casual enough to go with jeans or bermudas.
For those who still seated on the fence thinking that the Explorer II is all it takes, think again. I am glad I did.
