An uncommon find at the Watch Repair shop

I was at K2 Watch Co last week and the watchmaker showed me a rare Omega.

This is the Omega Memomatic and only 35,000 pieces were produced back in 1969. The caliber 980 was Omega's only movement with Alarm precise to the minute. The orange triangle sets the hour and the double orange line sets the minute. From what I gathered, this is an automatic alarm system and no manual winding is needed for the alarm function. The movement is indeed a beautiful piece of horlogical work. This watch has already found her new home.

What a gorgeous watch.
And I thought my Bell-matic was pretty accurate! :)
